Students will create plates from common and inexpensive materials, which will encourage regret-free experimentation! The plates will then be printed using an etching press. Want to have some fun exploring water media? Would you like to stretch your boundaries beyond traditional approaches of painting? Then join us for this experimental water media class. We will be preparing surfaces that will alter and interrupt the process of watercolor; however, we will be using traditional imagery. We will be using stamping in a non- traditional way, and then painting traditional imagery upon that. The instructor will provide the stamps. We will again be staining artist tissue paper to use as collage, and painting directly back into it. Those are just a few of the fun things we will be doing. Full sheet watercolor paper is preferred for this class, however, if you are more comfortable with smaller formats that will be fine.
