Come Weave a set of Mug Rugs (Coasters) and while you're at it, learn how to weave on the Rigid Heddle Loom in a 6 hour, 1 day workshop at the Oak Ridge Art Center on Saturday July 12, from 10 am to 4 pm. No prior weaving experience is needed. All weaving equipment and weaving thread will be available. All you need to do is come ready to learn and have a good time. We will take a break for lunch around noon but want to spend the lunch break in the center where we can talk about weaving and what the group has learned so far while we eat. The center has a kitchen with oven and microwave, so please bring your lunch with you. Be sure to include your phone number when you sign up as the instructor will need to call you to go over a brief survey on your prior experience with weaving. If you have a rigid heddle loom and want to use it, you can. If you don’t have a loom, you can rent one from the instructor for the day. If you have friends who also want to sign up, make it a group event and book the whole class.
