Learn to create enameled copper jewelry. Students will be shown how to properly prepare metal surfaces to receive powdered vitreous enamel. Techniques for application of enamel such as sifting, stenciling, wet packing, painting and stamping will be covered. The class will focus on kiln firing of jewelry pieces; however, students will also be introduced to torch firing. No prior jewelry making or enameling experience is required. Students will be provided with copper blanks and/or copper sheet as part of the materials fee for the class.
