For intermediate to advanced painters, this class utilizes the principles of composition and design in any painting media. As a long-time painter, artist and artist instructor, Chico Osten is proficient in all painting media and is ready to help students use their knowledge of the basics and build on them. His innovative approach of combining or layering ideas, imagery, and processes will help students open new avenues of work and create a new direction. For abstract to realist artists, the approach may result in compositions that are simple to the very complex, but always with focus and clarity. New ideas may be gained through discussion and the pursuit of alternate ways to create images on any paintable surface. Specific assignments are not given, students are encouraged to create from life experiences and those things they admire and find enjoyment in. Experimentation is key to reach the next plateau in your work.
